Songs for the Month of April 2026

Struggling a bit this month: Easter is the first day I've been able to disconnect from the work computer for 12+ hours in a handful of weeks and it's starting to wear on me a bit. Very little time for fun or creativity or really anything but work. Soldiering on, however, as it's been a great learning experience and I presume this will make landing in the private sector in my 40s a lot more stomachable.

I love public sector work, and my wish would be to get back to it when I’m the age I can make a difference. I suspect the next two years are going to be a really tough time to get tax dollars “trickling” the right direction, but without a doubt if we want to have any chance at maintaining a multipolar world order (instead of pure china and india dominance) the next administration is going to have to invest so much into infrastructure, public works, huge projects that seem completely incomprehensible now. It’s got to be a New Deal style project that brings america into the, and I’m sorry to say, modern world.

I hate to be an optimist, I really do, but it’s something that pollutes my heart. I have to tell myself it’s all going to get better: that there is a natural balance to the universe, and that for all the pain in the world today, there will be rejoicing and time to appreciate the harvest of life, and it could be soon.
