Songs for the Month of July 2025

July? Cause I was telling the truth!

Officially in my new role- somewhat exciting! Figure I'll be keeping my head down the next month or three, so might be a little delayed in getting some of these posts out: never to fear, I am cooking up some good stuff in my life outside of work once things settle down a little :)

I’ve got to leave for Frankfort tomorrow at 7 a.m., so as I’m posting this I’m currently procrastinating and trying to fight getting the appropriate amount of sleep (at this age, you’d think I’d know better.) Either way, hope everyone is having a wondeful summer, if not a busy and sweaty one!

I did build a tiny little chrome plugin that allows you to open up articles from publishers who, frankly, don’t deserve their readership’s support (looking at the Times, in particular) by right clicking and opening the article with a cached snapshot from archive.ph: https://github.com/henryamster/ArchPH The readme has instructions.

Finally, just want to acknowledge the passing of two greats in the american panetheon of song: Sly and Brian I think in many ways paralleled each other with their genius: both ruthlessly pursuing the truth of American music. I have spent so much time with each of their bodies of work: truly each was one-of-a-kind.
