Adam Curtis' TruamaZone: Russia 1985 to 1999

As public institutions get stripped for parts in our country, I recommend watching the results of the shock doctrine in the former Soviet Union as presented by Adam Curtis (video above- 1/7 in the series: worth watching the whole thing!) It’s not a good result for everyone who isn’t a billionaire. As someone currently seeking a job, probably not wise for me to be giving non-anodyne political opinion, but I just can’t imagine that taking funding from programs that support the public good so that rich people pay less taxes is some inscrutably brilliant 5-dimensional chess move. It’s my opinion these folks plan to abandon ship when the bill is due.
