Resistance Band
I found out about two years ago that I have an unfortunate health diagnosis that runs in the family: arthritis. It could be a lot worse! I've decided to actively do what I can to reduce my symptoms and improve my overall health.
Part of that has been getting a consistent 40 minutes a day of walking (when I can! sometimes it's less.) I have a pull-up bar and manage to do a few other exercise-like activities (planks, situps, squats, lunges) but the problem is I have very limited space and resources for getting into shape. I only have outdoors during tolerable weather, and about 2 sq ft of space indoors.
So I've decided to try out using resistance bands. The last time I used them was for rehab for physical therapy after being hit in a hit-and-run accident about a decade back. Since then, I've tried using dumbbells (I have one 15 lb and two 30lb) but I'm afraid my natural clumsiness might give way to a broken foot or something similarly unfortunate.
I purchased the cheapest set with good reviews on Amazon, and I've got a playlist of youtube videos I've been frequenting. So far I'm about two weeks into using them actively during my lunchtime workout and passively using them while waiting for builds or deployments at work, and to be honest this is about the best my neck and shoulders have felt since my 20s.
